I have the 2011 Air, is it normal to lose charge when it's shut down? I lost about 3% overnight. It also went down from 97% to 81% within 30 minutes while using internet and light typing.

What is your brightness set to? Are you using filevault? You're currently getting a little over 3 hours of battery on a full charge according to the numbers you provided.

My brightness is set to just below half, no backlit keyboard, no FileVault. And yes, i am getting just over 3 hours. The time on the battery keeps changing but not the percentage.

How did you shut it down? Just put it to sleep or shut down shut down??

As for battery life for the first couple of weeks don't expect anywhere near the expected battery life there is alot of indexing etc going on in the background etc.

Not sleep, "shut down shut down".

3% is 12 minutes of battery time on the 13inch if it's the 11inch then it's about 9 minutes of battery life. That's basic normal use battery life not start up and shut down 100% CPU use battery life.

I feel that my battery is draining too fast. From 81% to 68% in ~50 minutes with light use.

13% should be 52 ish minutes so your getting what's to be expected really.

Yes, it is normal to use 3 - 4 % overnight when the computer is asleep. As far as usage goes, what you noticed does not seem out of place. Battery usage will vary depending on what you are doing...

Just my 0.02

When I use my macbook air "light" -> (Safari, Mail) I can use it for more or less 7 hours...

If I play music etc. its about 3-5, depending on what I do...

Frankly I've been disappointed with the standby battery life on the new airs. Seems about equivalent to my old Rev. B. air. When they introduced the new design last year, wasn't there something about 30 day standby time? I don't see how that would be remotely possible.
