Is there anyway to draw temporary circles and arrows during a Keynote presentation on the iPad? I just want to circle something in real time to hi-light it during a presentation but not have it saved to the slide. All I can find is the built in laser pointer.

I too would like to know how to do this. Even if there was a way to do this on my MBP I would be happy, as I could use Logmein on the iPad to do what I need.

I don't know if you can but ill suggest an alternative. I save all my lecture ppt's as pdf's and open them in notetaker hd. Its great for drawing or writing. Of course you lose all the fancy animations and other features you might have in your ppt presentation. If you don't use those features then this is a great option. I teach almost 200 students and have no complaints!

Not exactly what you want but I save the slides that I want to edit to one of the note apps and then just swipe between apps now that iOS 5 is out. It lets you keep the annimations in keynote and annotate them in the second app. If you just want to point out something with the new Air Play you can get a laser pointer in Keynote.

You can free draw on Keynote

To free draw on keynote while giving the presentation tap and hold with one finger until a tool box appears on the bottom of the screen. You will find different color pens and even a laser pointer.
