My dream MacBook Pro would have a SAS interface instead of SATA, allowing Apple (and home upgraders) to choose between fast SAS drives and cheaper, higher capacity SATA drives.

Sure, lots of things would have to change. Like the availability of 9.5mm SAS drives (not available today).

Ah.... I can only dream...

Well, the reality is that SAS would be simply a different chipset. SAS chips support SATA drives as well as SAS. Having everything upgradeable is easy... if you want to go back to the luggables that Compaq came out with in the 1980s!

My dream drive is a very very efficient/improved 1 single SSD drive of 20 TB and an mtbf of 1000000 hours. 1.5GB/s write/read. Even though I know the current mbp cant handle a such drive!! =D
