Quick question and would love someone to test it on their own machine. In Big Sur (currently 11.0, holding off on 11.1) when formatting a drive in Disk Utility as APFS, it'll briefly say "creating... formatting as macos extended" while doing it. The finished format appears as APFS like normal, so I assume that dialogue is not supposed to be present (unless it is, and I'm missing something.) Just reaching out to see if anyone else has it, and hopefully confirm it as a bug.
