I have a C2D late 2006 Model Macbook pro with the 100GB 7500rpm drive. I just had the system first become unusable slow about 3 months ago so I check it with a bunch of iNode errors. So I whiped it out and reinstalled restored OS X from Time machine. Just recently the same thing started happening again the same problems. I am restoring from boot camp. However I think my drive may be on its way out (2 years of rather heavy use).
Apple has been so anally focus on making beautiful cases they forgot that there are still components with moving parts that tend to fail that should be easily replaced. Heck Apple doesn't even bother putting replacement drives for sale. Is my only option is bring it to the Apple store to get the drive fixed. Or risk the annoyance factor of trying to get the laptop open to replace a drive. (which most other laptop companies make it an easy swap job)
