Without opening up the Time Capsule, how can I find out what type of drive is inside? I cannot seem to make it come up in disk utility.

Sorry, I meant the manufacturer type, ie Hitachi, WD Green, etc. I bought a refurb TC, and it looks like the newer ones come w/the green drives that are supposedly curing the overheat problem and want to see if the refurbs come with this drive as well.

Under About this Mac, I do not see a Time Capsule area. I see Airport, but that doesn't show me what I'm looking for.

Most of the heat is from the power supply. The WD green drives may help, but unless they have revamped the PS or at least gone with better capacitors it'll still be fragile.

You should be able to see details about the HDD in Airport Utility.
