Greetings all. So as the title says I'm looking for any information on using an Epson TM-U220 Receipt printer with a Mac. I purchased 2 of these for my company to use on a couple of iMac's that we are using as POS stations. The iMacs are running 9.2.2 now but can can go to 10 if needed. Epson apparently has no software for the mac for these receipt printers (would have been nice of them to put that on the product brochure) and I have not been able to find any helpful info by surfing the web. If anyone has any sugestions I'm open to them. Thanks.

mac drivers and receipt printers

Hi,

Ive done some research into receipt printers, and it seems that Star Micronics are the only company in the world that make receipt printers that work with macs! there are other ways of doing it with adapters and little hacks (search on google) but they're not great, especially as its not best to go fiddling with code and opening a working printer to modify it!
So please let me know if you find another company who make printers with mac drivers or indeed a way to make the epson printers work with macs (epson printers are available on UK ebay pretty cheap)
Also there are loads of Star TSP printers on ebay in the US so it wouldn't be too difficult to get your hands on a couple.

Hope some of that is useful!

Thanks
Sam

Epson TM-U220 now supports Macs

Epson POS printers now support Macs. There are Mac drivers for the kitchen printer (TM-U220 M188B) and the thermal receipt printer (TM-T88) in the latest release. We sell these printers and can answer questions. www.beaglehardware.com
