Earlier today I had the same Windows share unmount on my Mac while copying XP SP2 over. I eventually got it on my 3rd try though. I thought nothing of it as I thought it could and was probably a problem with the Windows box. Then just now my external drive unmounted giving me the "Device Removal" warning. My FW HD did not turn off or anything. It just unmounted, right after a VPC reboot when I installed SP2.
Only things I were running were VPC 6.1, Safari, Mail, and Proteus.
