Realistically, (not theoretically) how many thunderbolt drives daisy chained to one TB port before there is even a minor effect on performance as compared to 1 or 2 drives per each TB port?
 
Depends on what kind of drives are connected. If you have six S-ATA 6.0 Gbps (S-ATA III) SSDs in six TB enclosures, you probably see a decrease with more than two drives.
If you only use HDDs, which cannot even saturate S-ATA 1.5 Gbps (S-ATA I), using six HDDs in six TB enclosures will not get you any slowdown due to the TB limit not even being said hello to.
 
4 Velcoiraptor 1TB drives. 2 in each enclosure if piped on a single TB port instead of one on each port.
