i'm getting very excited about going into Regent Street on friday after work to buy a Mac Pro.

i want to go to dabs.com tonight to buy a couple of 3.5" SATA 500Mb drives to plug in to the beast when it arrives.

i just wanted to check that 3.5" SATA drives are the right ones.. yes?

I don't have a Mac Pro but 3.5" SATA is what you want.

I've been researching 500 GB SATA drives for external enclosures (I plan on buying a bunch) and I've concluded that I'll skip the Seagate 7200.10 (it's noisy and slow) and get the Western Digital WD5000KS.

thanks for that. they're £4 dearer than the Seagate but i'll take you advice and go with WD. thanks

I installed a WD5000KS into my MP's number three slot last night... worked a treat!

i've just ordered two. Now I just need to wait till Friday to go buy the machine. I can't wait! Its so exciting!

it was never this exciting getting a new pc.....
