This has likely been dealt with on here before, but a quick search doesn't lead to my exact problem.

I'm getting the ol' 'Could not mount “XXXX”. (com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error 0.) on two drives. One is a 4TB 3.5" drive in an external enclosure, and the other is a 4TB 2.5" external drive that is my Time Machine backup.

I'm pretty sure that the culprit is my add-in USB 3 card in my Mac Pro (4,1 flashed to 5,1). I've had problems with it from the start where whenever the computer sleeps it gets improperly ejected, and the speeds will drop from 3.0 to 2.0 (or less) and I'll have to forcibly eject the drive (or memory card reader, USB drive, etc.) and start the file transfer again.

I've seen through searches that improper ejections can cause this error, and so with this in mind, anything that I can do? Both drives give me the same error, and both report-

Storage system check exit code is 0.
Repairing file system.
Volume is already unmounted.
Performing fsck_hfs -fy -x /dev/rdisk13
File system check exit code is 8.
Restoring the original state found as unmounted.
File system verify or repair failed. : (-69845)

...in First Aid.
Come to think of it, the TM drive was actually plugged into a USB 2.0 port on the computer (since it would ever work reliably attached to the USB 3.0 add-in card), but since both drives became like this the same morning when I went to turn them on, I'm assuming the problem is related.

I'm running Catalina 10.15.7

Thanks~
