Can anyone recommend a computer tech familiar with Drobo?
Was unaware of the Drobo drama. Been on Ventura for months. Recently lost a disk, no big deal, ordered one and was ready to replace it. Now it mounts for a couple minutes and dismounts appears no data is lost, a beautiful thing. I had apple re-install Monterey on a laptop thinking it would mount, however no go... Any thoughts appreciated.

Go to Drobo Downloads and download the latest firmware and Dashboard for your unit:

Their website is still up at least. Install Drobo Dashboard and see if that doesn't improve the mounting.

Might also check the firmware level and see if it needs an upgrade.

Thank you for your reply. All firmware is updated to their last. I was thinking of reinstalling the firmware, however the Drobo doesn't stay mounted for only a couple minutes. If the firware does not complete the process, I'm afraid it would make matters worse.

Popping into this thread because I recently got an M2 Ultra Mac Studio, and today was the first day I attempted to use my Drobo on it. The mere act of mounting the Drobo caused my entire system to freeze up or slow to a crawl. I did try to reinstall Drobo Dashboard for my 2nd Gen 4-bay Drobo, but SIP stopped it because it was trying to install stuff on the system volume. I don't remember that happening previously. Basically at this point, I just want to move all of my stuff off this ancient Drobo and onto a USB-C external hard drive I have, but it seems I can't even do that on Sonoma/with an M2 Mac. I have no interest in installing Drobo Dashboard any longer. I might try hooking it up to an older laptop I still have and see if it'll mount that way. The entire situation is a shame.
