So I wanted to restore a TimeMachine backup of my iMac. I recently needed to restore my system, and while I had a CCC clone of my system, I wanted to use TM, since that was running on TB and my external drive that had the cloned image was slow.
Long story short, the Drobo was not showing up, to do the restore. Googling around, I guess there's a series of steps that can make this work, i.e., terminal work, create and mounting volumes, knowing the IP address of the drobo.
Its been a reliable drive array, but when I needed it the most, I couldn't really use it. I still use CCC to clone my drive, but use TM for typical non-system restores. I think this time I wanted TM to do the restore.
I think I'll be in the market for a replacement for the Mini. I'm not looking for a RAID drive array but just another external drive to hold my Time Machine backups.
