Drobo - Sharing over network

Hi all;

I've recently purchased an iMac & have a MBP for the last couple of years.

I use a Drobo to back up my MBP & was wondering how I can have my Drobo back up both of my computers.

If possible I would like the backups to be partitioned.

I found this documentation http://www.drobo.com/downloads/docs/airport_app_note_g1pr.pdf
but am a bit confused as I don't have airport extreme as my network router.

can I still follow these directions using my Verizon wireless router?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
