I've got about 200 different addresses to drive to. I wish I could drop more than one pin so I can see how far apart each address is to another. Any advice on how to do this? Is there an app in the app store like this?

Are all those addresses already in your contacts list? I don't know any way to do this on the phone, but I'd think it would be faster and easier to just do it with Google on your computer instead.

There may be an app that lets you import waypoints/points of interest for the iPhone, but that seems like a long shot for that many points.

No they are new addresses. They are addresses I get off the net. I would like to see all pins at once so I can get an idea of where to go to first and I don't have to back track.

You can just enter them in the Directions tab on Maps, and it has a memory to store them, just like Google Maps.

TEG

Thanks, but I'm saying I would like to view all pins at once so I can figure out where to go to first. Make sense?

It sounds like you're looking for route optimization software. I did a quick Google and didn't find anything for the iPhone, but there is a lot of stuff for trucking companies, etc. that probably costs $$$ and only runs on PCs.

I'd like to see multiple pins on maps also. What currently does this, but not optimized for it, is Omnifocus for iPhone. It is an advance to do application. One feature is that you can geo-tag addresses, set them up with specific to do errands, then see the errand address pins all on the map. The software tells you how far away you are from each pin. It reorganizes the list depending upon where you are in relation to the pins after you have physically travelled.

There is no good way to do this completely on the iPhone. However, this kinda works:

1. Load up multiple destinations in Google Maps on computer
2. Optimize route
3. Save to My Maps
4. Enable My Maps layer in Google Earth on iPhone

You want to yell at me for it, but..

I'm reviving this one from the dead again.

Anything yet??

You need a GPS app, CoPilot, Navigon, TomTom, Sygic, all have multiple route points.

And no you still can't drop multiple pins in the Maps app, which is really annoying since you cannot for example measure distance between two locations(say Dublin - London), unless your current location is one of those locations.

Are you sure about your second point? I just mapped that (Dublin - London) even though I'm in San Francisco. You can press on 'current location' to get the circle with the "x" to remove current location and enter a location of your choice, a contact, a bookmark, or your current location again.

Regarding the subject of the thread, I tried multiple locations using mapQuest's app, but didn't like it because the map isn't as smooth as the stock app and the location markers don't name the contact or location (retailer, museum name, etc.) even if that location is a contact.

Multiple pins in Maps would be so much better.

Sorry, yes you're right.

What I meant to say is that you cannot drop two pins and measure distance between them.

Generally Maps is missing A LOT of features from a proper GPS app.

Apple add pins to the maps... this guy has 5 kids to feed.

ANSWERED:

There is an app called Maps+ (red icon with a compass symbol) that allows you to drop and save multiple pins at the same time. You can also make alarm pins for when you enter or exit a certain radius. Sweet app.

Thanks, I'll check it out. I hate how I can be at home but will know I'll be at another place soon and will have a destination from there but can't map it out, hopefully this app can do this sort of thing
