Dropbox Carousel is filling my hard disk

So I like the fact that Dropbox released Carousel & it's backing up all my photos & vies. It's all good.
Except that I now have a ~50GB folder on my Mac of 'Camera Uploads'

Have others found this & how have they tamed this beast?

I guess I can choose Selective Sync in Dropbox settings & not sync the camera uploads folder ...

In addition I guess Dropbox aren't really offering cloud backup of my photos, just that they'll copy them from phone to Mac. So if I turn off sync of Camera Uploads, that's it - Carousel is effectively not backing up my photos anymore

Thoughts?
