Hey Everyone,

For whatever reason my Dropbox always disconnects itself after I restart my Mac Studio. When I boot up it prompts me to re-login to find it, then I have to follow the setup process and make sure it's pointed to my external G-Tech Shuttle XL or else it'll start syncing to my internal SSD. Has anyone come across this? I'm losing my mind because every time I restart it has to re-sync/verify all the files in my dropbox which takes a long time.

I also have the issue where sometimes when I restart the computer two of my displays forget where they are suppose to be (they swap left and right) so I have to fix that. That leads me to believe the ports on the computer maybe refresh weird which messes up Dropbox because it can't find the folder as if I removed the Shuttle XL?

I don't have that issue at all. I wonder if the external drive isn't recognized until after Dropbox starts, so it doesn't see it in time.

Maybe, but that's weird isn't it? Here's what pops up every time I restart my computer. I discovered if I hit "quit" then open Dropbox it opens up properly, but still very annoying.

Yeah I hear. This is the issue that happens when Dropbox can't locate the external drive at Dropbox's startup. By the time you quit and restart, the drive has mounted and it finds it and works normally. I'd try an app that delays startup of Dropbox, even by 30 seconds or so may fix this. Here's a link for an idea of what I mean.

I have a single 3.5" HDD in a USB 3.0 enclosure, so it's simpler than your Shuttle XL. Maybe that's why I don't have the issue.

Thanks for this.

I'm running my Dropbox on an external SSD, so also have the starting/sleep issues where the system launches before the drive loads.
It's been on my todo list to find a fix since I got my M1 Mini.
