First off, I take no credit for this. That goes to Mathias Bynens and his post here. I have summarized it below.

You will need a Dropbox account. If you don't have one, why not?! It's easy to sign up - https://www.dropbox.com/

Now that you have an account you can get an EXTRA 1GB FREE! All you need to do is follow these steps:

If there’s a link, click it; if not, just do what it says.

https://www.dropbox.com/dropquest2011
https://www.dropbox.com/dropquest2011/D
Clicking here will solve the puzzle in step 6 for you
4• Enter “33739”
Clicking here will solve the sudoku in step 10 for you
https://www.dropbox.com/dropquest2011/x
https://www.dropbox.com/dropquest2011/h
8• Enter “baff1e”
9• Enter “Drew Houston”
10• Share a new folder named “1F75CC” with dropquest@dropbox.com
11• https://www.dropbox.com/about
12• https://www.dropbox.com/dropquest2011/R
13• https://www.dropbox.com/dropquest2011/t
14• Enter “badcabbage”
15• Enter “1133471056”
16• Enter “Dr0pbox heaRts U”

Now the kicker, the Dropquest was going to last until Midnight (PST) on Jan. 29, but it is now ENDING TONIGHT @ MIDNIGHT (PST)...5 hours and counting.

Is it just me, or have they changed some of the answers around?

Working through the quest now. This is fun! Thanks for the post.

Still looks like this is active...hmmm. Worth trying it out if I were you. Post if is over or not.

The increase in storage is awarded bits at a time (50 megs here, 100 megs there) as you work through the quest, so you'll know within the first few steps if it isn't working.

In addition to the quest, there are a few other things you can do to increase your storage space. Just have a look at dropbox.com/free for steps to connect your Facebook/Twitter page (they want you to tweet about how cool Dropbox is, of course, but you get an additional gig or so of space for the trouble :) )

He probably meant that the company says the quest will run for two weeks, but it was cut short to one and a half weeks instead.

Probably because too many people are cheating and following that guide :D

I don't care why they cancelled it. And I don't have a problem following it through step by step and figuring it out for myself. I just don't like it when companies - any company - says one thing and does another. It's unavoidably lame PR, not to mention bad business.

If you find out a certain amount of people are cheating, take it as a learning experience and disallow it next time, but stick to what you originally said.

I get what you're saying, but I disagree with it in certain situations, especially this one where thousands probably cheated. This was a giveaway, a freebie. They're not changing their terms, prices, or any other relevant facts about their business. It's like they were giving away T-shirts and they ran out becasue most of their boxes got stolen. I certainly don't expect them to run out and print more.
