Has anybody been able to use Dropbox on Apple Vision Pro? It seems like Dropbox might have blocked it's app from Apple Viopsion.

It is blocked. I haven’t been able to find a reason why on their site, but I would guess they’re being cautious and want to QA it first. I’ve noticed that Dropbox seems to be more risk averse than other providers. That’s a good position for a storage provider to have in general, just not when the new toys come out. :)

Thankfully, many other options do work. I’m using Mega for now, and have had zero problems. I spot checked and a few others are there too.

In the Tips (User Manual) on VisionOS Apple explicitly includes Dropbox as a prime example of an external server that can be connected to Files. When I tried to do this, it failed for lack of a socket. In iOS a Dropbox app is required for this connection to work. So the lack of a Dropbox app on VisionOS is directly contradicting a capability that Apple claims is possible. I use Dropbox to move files between different systems. Its universality has been one of its prime selling points. If not fixed quick, I will drop my Dropbox subscription.

As a temporary measure, could one run DropBox on a Mac, then connect to the Mac as a file provider with Vision Pro, then use Files on AVP to access the Mac's DropBox folder?

In short, use a Mac as a mediator between AVP and DropBox.

Not so easy...VisionOS like iOS does not intrinsically show other networked devices under Locations as MacOS does. So one will have to figure out what network address to use in the VisionOS Files Connect to Server dialog. Will report back if I figure out how to do this using the Mac's ip address. I actually expect Dropbox and Apple will sort this out pretty soon.

Connected via ip address (interpreted as smb) and can see some folders (with permission issues). Dropbox folder these days is buried in ~Library/CloudStorage and ~Library seems to be default hidden from network access. Not so easy as I said... Going to wait on Dropbox to get sorted out.

Dropbox in safari works but would love an update from them that adds native (Vision OS or iPad) version so it can integrate much more seamlessly into the files app. Same with Google Drive. Let's do this, come on people! And by people, I mean, Google and Dropbox.

Apple support says to use the files app to access drop box. Any luck with this?
