Dropped MacBook

dont ask me how it happened but it happened and i dropped my macbook..now it wont start..goes so loke a grey screen with a folder in the centre and a flashing question mark inside of it..i sent it to my mom so she can carry it to the apple store and get it sorted out..any one else had this experience?

Sounds like yor hard drive has gone.

If that's all that's wrong then you've got away very lightly.

The Flashing question mark means the computer can't find the System folder to boot from. In the case of dropping it I suspect it means a damaged hard drive, but it could be just a loose connection.
