Is it ok to dry it with a hair dryer ? I have it turned down on the screen right now. I took the case off immediately.

Days for sure. And a bag of rice they always say to soak moisture out. How long was it in water.

Edit: did it run inside it or just over it? Get in any ports or button holes?

No it is not a myth. Try it and you will be surprised.

It really depends on the situation. In this case, I don't believe rice would be useful. In other situations with smaller devices, using gel silica packets are more effective, which can be ordered offline or obtained from
Shoeboxes, being they absorb moisture at a higher rate.

I used a hair dryer on the speaker/lightning end of my wife's mini after she dropped it in the tub while giving our kid a bath and FaceTiming. Use low heat. Worked just fine.
