Hi all:
I am hoping maybe someone can help me here.
I am experiencing a drop of my network connection. It's wifi, and I can see the router from my chair. I have two other machines, one an older macbook and the other a newer pc and they do not have any issues. Therefore I believe the issue is isolated to my new 2014 Macbook pro retina.
The problem happens like this:
-I click on a link or enter a URL.
-The page in safari turns white like it is refreshing
-the URL of the page changes
-but nothing happens for about 2 minutes.
During this time, if I use the console to try to ping google.com, I get 'unresolved host'. This leads me to suspect there is some kind of DNS issue?
So I put in manual DNS servers, 8.8.8.8 and .4 for google dns. That seemed to help the problem, but not entirely eliminate it.
I should note that during the entire issue, the network connection says it is connected, and I have an IP address. Renewing the DHCP lease doesn't help.
Anyone have any ideas? This seems to happen about every 15-30 minutes.
