I have a less than 1 week old Macbook Pro 17 (integrated battery), which I recently dropped and it landed on the corner left of the MBP casing (did not land on the screen lid nor the bottom cover).

This is how it look like now.

So, what should I replace? The bottom plate is fine. What is this middle casing called?

I am from Singapore, can I order it online and get it replaced either on my own or a professional to do it for me? I cannot send to local Apple dealer as the quote they gave me is more than $1000 SGD.

Please advice.

Pre-unibody, it would have just been the bottom case housing. Unibody, it takes replacing the whole body housing. Good luck, that is an expensive and time consuming/tedious process. If it works (I'm assuming it does), leave it alone. Just my $0.02.
