I'm mad at myself...it was too friggin cold this morning and as i lifted the aluminium MBP , my hands kinda felt numb and i accidentally dropped from about 2 ft to a hardwood floor :-( . I turned on the mac and it worked fine but for a dent on the edges and a little popping of the lcd screen..until evening,i saw an oily kinda liquid oozing out of the lcd screen..am so so scared now as my MBP would go bonkers..what should i do next ?

oh wow that really sucks :\

I had no idea that the LCD screens had oozy stuff behind them.

I would have to agree with the others, your best bet would to take it to the genius bar.

LCD stands for Liquid Crystal Display.

When you make a Genius Bar appointment online, the website reminds you to back up all data before you make your appointment.:)

Oh really? That is pretty handy. HP didn't mention to me anything some time ago before I mailed in my desktop for a video card replacement. Since I had no video, I couldn't back up my HD. I included 2 notes, one stuck right on the computer, to tell them that because of their problem I couldn't back up my HD and asking them just to replace the video card and leave the HD alone.

So what do you think happened?

Anyway. That was then.

Sorry to hear. Which corner hit the floor? Top-left (where the port openings are)?

Just to give you an idea, the lower chasis of a 15" mid-2009 uMBP is $395 to replace (at Apple authorized repair center). Of course, the screen will be more expensive.

Good luck!

Apple is going to charge up the ass as usual for that little "fix".
Would it be cheaper to do yourself?
