Hello,

I just got back from Hong Kong and while I as there I picked up the Nintendo DS Fire Link and Card.

I can get the twenty pre-installs to work, but any new games I put on it, show up, but won't load.

Does anyone out there have the DS Fire Link?

Any tips would be well appreciated.

Cheers, Tom

Hi,

looks like I have exact same problem, so 2 of us now !

If I copy one of the working preinstalled games into the Mac, erase it on the card, and put it back on from the Mac via the USB mode, it won't work anymore.
So most likely it has to do with our platform.
Have you tried loading from a PC ?
thanks

Nope, have yet to try that as I don't have a PC.

However I'm in the Far East again in a couple weeks and may get another one, but a different brand.

Let me know if you have any results with yours. cheers, tommy

Hi

I tried with a PC from an internet cafe, had the roms in a USB key, transferred to PC, and back to Firecard, worked. All games I tried booted One (Cars UK) was corrupting system and all the other games...
Prior to transfer that I deleted everything in the card from the PC, and dragged back xmenu and system folder.

Took about 15 mn to copy 1,5Go on my 2Go.
However the idea of accessing a PC everytime I need to try something out bugs me big time and I'm also looking at the R4 now, which they claim works with Mac..

If you try first lemme know, I'm also still in Asia, though now in Thailand prices are higher than HK :(

Nice one. I'll try the cyber cafe / usb trick and see what happens. Keep us posted on how you get on with the R4 and a mac.

Cheers, tom

well, I went on and got the R4, it works seamlessly with my intel Macbook.
Dragged and dropped many files, including emulators of older systems and pretty much everything worked.
Apparently newer devices like the TT get better props, but older R4 has lots of gaming community support and the very few Mac/DS apps can deal with it right now.

Firelink has also a Slot 2 cart and it may play the otherwise impossible gb/gba games, but I can't be bothered to access a PC and figure it out, as it goes it will make a nice present to a younger one !
