For those of us who don't want a perpetual log of every folder ever created (etc) has any figured out a way to actually permanently delete or reset this?
Honestly, I would not have gone with OS X if I knew about this. Someone in another thread recommended OnyX, but that doesn't do the trick. Nor does MacScan, IceClean, TipToe, Cocktail, Yasu, or saving the .ds_store file with modified or blank contents.

None of those will work, because .DS_Store files are created by Mac OS X for a purpose. You don't need to try to delete them all or prevent them from being created.
