I want to hook up my DSL from my pc to my powerbook. can i just plug it in and it should work, or is my dsl for my pc something differnet since I specified PC when i got it hooked up? Sounds like a dumb question, sorry!

As long as your DSL uses ethernet, is should be easy. However, some ISPs use PPPoE (Point to Point Protocal over Ethernet) while others have a code in the DSL box that tells the ISP who "you" are, and you recieve an address via DHCP.

If you use PPPoE, you will need to set that up on your Mac first, other wise, just set your network settings for DHCP, and plug-in.

Most ISPs only use that computer information given for marketing, and to send you special software they see fit at installation.

If you have any problems, I'd call the ISPs tech support, they would be your best bet in getting this squared away.
