I have a DSL Gateway from my ISP, I also have an AirPort Extreme. The Gateway is by my Home Theater and my DirecTV, Apple TV, and AirPort Extreme are plugged into it. Wireless is turned off on the Gateway. Then my other devices run off the wifi from the AirPort Extreme.

Now whenever I go to my Mac Mini it tells me "another device on your network is using your macs IP address" or something similar. I think it's my Apple TV because when I turn that in I often have a message saying "could not connect to iTunes Store" and sometimes it takes a long time to get a network connection.

My AirPort Extreme is in Bridge mode.

What is my best setup for my situation? Can I turn Bridge mode on in the Gateway? I guess I was thinking since that's my modem and it's kind of "first", before the AirPort Extreme I had to set it up the way I have it. I was going to try to set static ip addresses, but my Airport is in Bridge mode so I can't do it through the Airport.

I'm leaning towards just buying a modem so I can get rid of the Gateway and have just one router, is that my best bet?
