The whole digital TV switch was to clear up the airwaves for emergencies and all that other stuff. Is this going to help us get better connections on our phone. has anybody noticed any change?

i wouldnt think it would improve cell reception because the former tv signals used a different frequency than cell phones use. Once companies take over that frequency, they can use it for 4G or w/e they want to use it for.

AFAIK the DTV switch frees up 700 mhz spectrum. im not sure that would exactly translate into any improvement for current att customers.

AT&T purchased blocks of 700 MHz spectrum, some of that is from the analog TV. I believe this is going towards LTE, so yes, eventually.
