Hey I have the setup in my sig and I'm running one Dell 24" at 1920x1200. The thing is that I'm considering getting another monitor exactly the same so I can run dual monitors, but I've read that some people have had some lock-up issues while attempting this. My question is who wide spread is this before I go and drop $600 on another monitor? Thanks in advance.

Ps
I'll also be running both monitors in landscape mode.

You'll be great in landscape mode. In portrait mode, for myself and another user we both experienced lock-ups while using Cover Flow.

I run two 20" monitors (1680 x 1050) and have had zero problems, however I have not tried to run them in portrait mode.

Likewise - I've been running dual monitors for years. No problems, but I've only ever used landscape mode.

I also run dual monitors (only 17" ones) on my late '06 Mac Pro, which runs perfectly fine. I'm going to be doing exactly what you are attempting, buying one 24" and buying a second when my budget allows.

But I guess more specifically you were asking if there are any reported problems running two 24" monitors at 1920x1200 each? I would like to know that too!

Does anyone know the maximum output for a single DVI connection?

Max Resolutions

Dual-Link DVI 2560 x 1600 (Only 30" Monitors)

Single-Link DVI 1920 x 1200 (28" and Less)

The only Mac Pro graphics card with a Single-Link DVI is the 7300GT all others have Dual-Link ports.
