Dual 2GHz G5 powermac freeze

I recently (a month ago) bought a refurbished dual 2GHz G5 and it recently started freezing on me. It basically completely locks up, no spinning beach ball, no mouse movement, nothing, then after about three minutes the fans kick into overdrive...I end up having to cycle the power to get it to reset. Any tips? I'm running 10.4.6.
