Dual-Band with 2 Airport Expresses

I have two Airport Expresses. One is connected to my cable modem over ethernet. The other is in a bedroom.

Is there some way to run a dual-band network (802.11n 5GHz and 802.11 b/g 2.4Ghz) without connecting the second Airport Express by ethernet?

I know it's possible to extend a network, but it'd be great if you could also alter the frequency.
