I don't game or video edit. Mostly just work stuff and web surfing/youtube.

Will the 2018 mac mini be able to run these? They have USBC and HDMI ports.

I was thinking HMDI from mac mini to 1 and Thurderbolt 3 to the USBC on the 2nd monitor.

Am I out to lunch here?



Just read up a bit on scaling and how it taxes the GPU. Side question: If I kept the monitors at the native 3840x2160 how small will the text be compared to my 27"imac that I have at default setting of 2560x1140.

except for menu bars everything else can be increased in size i.e. icons & fonts.

Support for the following combination of maximum concurrent display setups:

  • Up to three displays:
  • Two displays with 4096x2304 resolution at 60Hz connected via Thunderbolt 3 plus one display with 4096x2160 resolution at 60Hz connected via HDMI 2.0
  • or
  • Up to two displays:
  • One display with 5120x2880 resolution at 60Hz connected via Thunderbolt 3 plus one display with 4096x2160 resolution at 60Hz connected via HDMI 2.0
