Hi. I'd like to try and dual boot an imac with Linux Mint Cinnamon using rEFInd but rEFInd may need to be reinstalled. I installed it last week and it worked fine for a few days then disappeared. Should I just reinstall it or should it be uninstalled and then reinstalled? Is there a way I can check in the system files to see if any part of rEFInd still exist on the computer? If it needs to be uninstalled how do I do that?

Any advice or questions would be appreciated. Thanks.

It's been a few years since I used rEFInd. It's unlikely that it vanished, but it might need to be re-blessed. You can poke around in the rEFInd instructions for that, or you can simply re-install it; I believe I've done that and it works.

Hi, thanks for responding. From everything I've been able to gather so far it looks like we had "boot coup" described in this article, https://www.rodsbooks.com/refind/bootcoup.html, apparently written by the guy who developed refind. As you suggest, I'll poke around and either figure out how to re-bless it or just reinstall it, then maybe how to avoid the next boot coup.
Thanks again.
