Hey Everybody
You might have seen a previous thread I've made called "Dual Book Mac Leopard with 0S 9" on my PowerBook G4 12". This proved to be impossible as the parts weren't old enough to support OS 9.

Now I have a new idea, put Yellow Dog Linux on it and see if it has classic environment. Is this possible. Can YDL run OS 9 apps?

Any answer would be great!!

The titanium PowerBooks could boot up to OS 9, but the aluminum G4's were only made to boot up to OS X (all if not most). However, in every OS before Leopard, both machines could operate OS 9 in Classic.

Otherwise, you may try running an emulator like SheepShaver. Here's an old guide for this using an Intel Mac which may still be valid for a PPC machine. Here's some more emu's from MacScene.

Never seen an emulator for OS 9 for Linux, but Linux can do anything just as long as there's someone crazy enough out there to make it.

You're better off 'dual booting' with a Tiger install, because then you could actually have Classic Environment installed on Tiger. YDL won't run OS 9 at this date.
