I'm looking into formatting and partitioning the 40GB HDD on my 12" Rev1 Powerbook. I would like to run Panther 10.3.3 on the first partition with 95% of my applications and some files, and Jaguar 10.2.8 on the other partition with 2 specific Jaguar-only audio applications and about 15GB's worth of Audio tracks, samples, etc.
I've read some alerts about Kernel Panics with users having 2 Panther partitions on their primary drive, but has anyone here sucessfully ran a dual-boot Panther/Jaguar combination on their primary Hard drive? kernel panics? and do you have specific recommendations on setting up the dual-boot ?
I'm running it all in Jaguar right now, and since i reverted from 10.3.3 to run this specific software, i just can't hang with the slower GUI - i notice it alot. and i'd like to get as much out of my machine as i can, but if there is ANY risk of Kernel panics at all i will not do it. Some panther software and some jaguar software i use both for different live audio performances, and can't risk kernel panics.
