ok, i admit im kinda newb when it comes to stuff like this.. so its usually easiest if i just ask someone directly than go hunting for answers on my own. that usually results in me digging the troubleshooting hole so much deeper.

under the about my mac i opened the memory section and this showed up, does that mean only one of them is being used, or what does that mean since it says blank?

Thanks !! :D

It says that it is empty because either it is empty (no ram chip in it) or you have a faulty ram slot or less likely a faulty ram module.

Take out the battery, remove the L shaped bar and pull out the ram modules (if there are 2 !) and swop them round....

I suspect that it is a faulty ram slot.
