We have a Mac Mini (late 2012, i5 2.5GHz, upgraded with SSD+HDD, 16GB RAM) which has a 24" Dell U2415 (1920x1200) attached to it via a Displayport to Mini Displayport cable (attached to the Mini's Lightning port as far as I can remember).
Now, we also want to use the same display with a PC and in addition get a 2nd display (another Dell U2415 or similarly spec'd). They'll be attached to the PC with one Displayport cable to each display.
So my questions related to this are:
1) is it possible to attach two of those 24" displays (1920x1200) to the Mac Mini? What kind of cable/adapter should I use?
The Dell displays have a Displayport, a Mini Displayport and an HDMI connector.
2) would two displays on the Mini work well, slow things down or cause other issues? We're not into gaming, but everyday web browsing, mail, text editing etc.
It would be nice for instance to put the apps in one display and the Finder desktop in the other one, or similar split setups.
3) depending on which cable(s) I should attach to the Mini, what kind of a switch box (KVM switch?) would you suggest I go for so I don't have to unplug cables each time I use the PC or Mac?
