I'm setting up a dual display workspace with two Apple Studio Displays (VESA mounts). I'm curious as to how people have their setups oriented.

The three potential orientations could be both in landscape, one in landscape + one in portrait, or both in portrait.

One would think the obvious choice would be to have them both in landscape mode, but that's gets pretty wide. Right now I've got them set as one in landscape and one turned 90º into portrait. 27" is pretty tall, but definitely gives you extra space without getting too wide.

How about you all?

I thought a poll would be interesting.

Both landscape ATM. Thinking about re-adding a third monitor in portrait orientation though.

Both landscape, maybe OCD, but I like things to be even and straight.....🤪

At the moment I'm still playing with it. My ASDs have not yet arrived (hopefully just two more weeks if they come at the earlier end of the delivery window), so I'm using two spare 1440p Dell 27" monitors temporarily. I'm rearranging things on the desk, so I wanted some placeholders so I could get things set.

Having one in portrait definitely make it less wide, so it feels like they take up less space, but the top third of the portrait one is a bit too tall to be comfortable with the level at which it's positioned. Feels like wasted space...

First world problem, yes.
