Can I run another display that extends my desktop on a 12" 867? It has a mini VGA and I know that on the iBook with the same connector you can only mirror so before I go spend some money on a new display and a mini VGA to VGA adapter I wanted to make sure I could use it for extending my desktop not just mirroring.

Yes you can. Your PowerBook video card supports this natively, the iBook is restricted to mirroring to broaden the gap between the pro and consumer laptops (though there is a hack to make the iBook support dual too
