Hi Guys,

Searched but didn't come across what im trying to do.

I have a 2012 Macbook air 13 inch
I would like to know if it is possible to run an external display from the display port and also run another screen via USB to HDMI converter.

I know both work individually just not at the same time.

The second USB screen will not be used for video.

any info would be great.

there is no reason why this wouldnt work. however the resolutions are stricter on those external usb monitor adapters. usually they dont go as high as say a apple cinema display or thunderbolt. if the usb monitor adapter is connected to a standard resolution monitor it should be fine.

The USB adapter works fine. I tried a Buffalo one from Amazon a couple months ago.

Keep in mind that there will be some lag though through the USB-connected display. This is why I no longer have this setup - it drove me nuts.
