Given that getting a G5 in a PB is "the mother of all thermal challenges", do we thing that Apple has thought about or tried to put two G4's in a PB or is that just rediculously unfeasible? There must be a little bit of room in the 17", a second fan could be added.......what do you mac-sperts think?

2 hours battery life... no thanks. However, if used as a desktop replacement, it would make sense. Bring it on!

That would be cool......they need to go 64Bit ;)

More likely is FreeScales upcoming dual-core G4. It should be available to Apple towards the end of this year, perhaps in time for dual core PowerBooks at MWSF 2006...

Yes, its more likely that Apple will go with Dual Core chips

that way they could increase processing performance but with less power (than 2 processors of course) and increase the battery time

I've no doubt that they've thought about a dual processor PowerBook, and there may well be prototypes knocking around in the labs at Cupertino – but I agree that dual core chips are much more likely to be the next step.

If dual-core G4s won't be out until January 2005, do you think there will be a Powerbook update before then?
