I've just bought a Powerbook G4 and it's got a MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-845E drive. What I've been told is that it's capable of burning Dual Layer DVD. However I can't find anything on that. So is it true, can it burn DL? I've heard many thing's that it can, that it can't, and that it can but apples disabled it.

You have the 12" right? AFAIK thats the only powerbook now offered that does not support DL, despite the fact the drive is physically capable of burning DL. The only way we would be able to get DL if someone makes a firmware update for the drive to enable it.goodwisha said:

It´s in finnish (kyllä=yes, ei=no) but as you can see it clearly states that +R DL is supported.
