Dual-link DVI adapter for Cinema Display

Hey guys I might be purchasing a 30 inch cinema display and currently have a mid-2009 unibody MBP. I know I need the cable to power it, but do I need to drop the 100 dollars for the apple one or are their any alternatives?

i seen a 27" the other day and it was magnificent! much more impressive looking then the cinema but if the price it right then theres nothing wrong with it =D i also do not know of any alternative to the apple adapter, try a google search or checking out some electronic store like future shop/best buy.
