Dual Monitor Question

Currently I have a 2013 Air and run two monitors from it, one off the mini display port the other off a plugable displaylink based dock. Any reason why I couldn't run the same configuration using the HDMI dongle and plugging the current Plugable dock into the USB-A port on the dongle?
