dual monitor recommendations?

I'm Looking for recommendations for a dual monitor setup. I'm sure there is dual vs single monitor thread somewhere, but I'd like to hear what folks have to say with a starting parameter of the price of 23" cina display... What dual setup would you go with for that price?
 
I used to have dual sony e540's. They were great displays, but after a while I decided that I actually didn't need two monitors. I am in the process of selling both of them right now. At the time I purchased them, both of them together came out to around $1000. Not too bad for 21' inch monitors.
