Hello Mac gurus,

I am awaiting a maxed out Macbook Pro 13” ... I will use it for 3D modeling and architectural projects and so often will have a dual monitor setup hooked up to it.

I am used to an apple 27” Cinema Display and a 24” vertically oriented.

Question... should I get a 27” 5k or two 4K monitors??

Or should I get another 27” apple Cinema Display for almost nothing and have all this wonderful real estate?

Or two 27” 4K monitors???

Thanks. I have no experience with the new breed of 4K...

You all are wise and fantastic.

I’m a big fan of “seeing is believing.”

Or in my case, “seeing and falling in love and spending way too much money at the Apple Store.”

I would try 4K out then 5K at the store. Fair warning - they’re awesome.

Tldr; it’s probably a fiscal decision. I would go with two 4K’s since they’re getting cheaper while 5K is still expensive and 2560x1440 is a bit outdated.

The most flexible option is getting a 4K and Apple Cinema Display (for now) and then upgrading the Apple Cinema to a 5K down the line.

(That’s my $0.02.)
[doublepost=1565214735][/doublepost]P.S. I recently bought a 5K iMac 27” and while 5K is awesome the bigger size is even better. And 4K to 5K isn’t a super big deal while the price difference is huge. If you aren’t a photo or video editor then a big 4K is probably best.
