Dual Monitors in closed mode

just ordered my new MBA 13" ultimate. Is it possible to run 2 monitors either 2 DVI, or 1 DVI and 1 VGA in closed mode?

Key is, I want the computer to recognize them as 2 separate monitors, not 1 really wide screen....

Any ideas?
 
As far as I know, this isn't possible unless you run one monitor off of a USB adapter which have been known to provide questionable results.
