Hi,

I recently bought a iWires mini display port to HDMI cable to connect my iMac 21.5" (Mid 2010) to my TV. I wanted to do this for watching DVDs / live steaming of online sport footage etc.

I've managed to connect fine and audio also transfers through to the TV, i also have it set up like two seperate screens, however when i maximise the iDVD or VLC windows on the TV I have either the greyed out screen (iDVD) or the blacked out screen (VLC) on my iMac, making my iMac unusable at the same time as videos are being played full screen on the TV display.

Has anybody had this problem before and do they know if theres a setting i can adjust to stop this?

Cheers

Jim

Welcome to the wonderful world of how Apple does full screen with multiple monitors.
Instead of using the full screen button, just grab the corner of the iDVD window and enlarge it.
