Dual Screen Window Opening Issue

Hi,

I've got this weird problem with dual screen. And I can't seem to find anyone with the same thing anywhere on the internet. But if any one can help surely macrumors forum can!

What happens is sometimes, strangely not all the time, when I open certain files or finder-windows the window the opens straddles my tow screens. So half is over on one screen and half the other. It mostly seems to happen in preview when I open image files.

It there anyway I can re-set the default opening location on preview and finder windows when for dual screen? OR fix this generally? When I've got my 2nd monitor unplugged this never happens...

I use two monitors. Sometimes windows open and I'm not entirely happy about where they open but it's no big deal. Why does this bother you? When it happens, can't you simply drag the window where you want it?
